Weekend Happenings

Josh and I are starting our weekend early today with a trip down to San Diego to pick up his beer winnings. He recently entered a Stone contest for its newest collaboration beer, Quingentri Millitre, a barrel-aged macadamia nut, coconut, kona coffee porter. AND he won! We thought we'd make a day of it and stop by Alpine, Ballast Point, and Lost Abbey. We're brainstorming lunch options, but I've heard that Escondido has some great Mexican restaurants.

Saturday we'll be watching the start of the USC football season - Fight On! - and planning for our Italian dinner party. Menus and details to come next week...

I cannot wait for Monday! I've always wanted to go to one of the Food and Wine festivals and we finally are. And, Giada De Laurentiis will be there, which makes the ticket price totally worth it! The festival is filled with great chefs and wineries and some cooking demos from Food Network stars. I'm particularly looking forward to some Justin wine.
